How to handle MGA’s valves
Installing
Check if the valve is adequated to the pressure and temperature of the fluid’s conditions.
When possible, check piping before installing the valve to assure that no dust is inside the pipe line.
Set the valve at the “open” position during installing, to avoid ball’s damage.
Check the correct alignment of the piping and flange holes. The axels’ alignment is also important to threaded valves. Do not correct the piping alignment using the valve’s installation.
The actuator’s alignment at the automated valves must be observed, to avoid an incorrect working and torque increase.
For automated MGA valves by pneumatic actuator, check the available pressure of the compressed air to be used in the line to activate the valves. These valves can bear an activation’s pressure of 5 to 7 bar.
Valves with welding extremities must be disassembled when welded to avoid sealing damage.
Remove strange objects, as dust from the valve seats with PTFE sealing, to avoid any damage to the valve sealing.
Carriage and Storage
The material must be kept out of the sun light, rain or sea breeze and with its protections.
Do not carry valves over 2” from its handle or actuator.
Operation
MGA’s ball valves are designed for bidirectional flow, unless they have a relief or contact hole.
The opening and closing operation of manually valves are made by 1/4 turn (90°).
MGA’s valves are flow block valves (on/off), because they only work in two positions: totally opened or totally closed, therefore they can’t be used to control the line flow.
Flow Directional Valve’s Operation
As indicated at the picture below, these valves are only indicated to divert the flow and not to control it.
As an operation characteristic, the flow directional ball valves are placed in one side or at the lower part of the valve’s both exits, used to divert the flow from one line to two different lines.
Guarantee and Technical Assistance
MGA guarantee any material or manufacture damage, in a period of 6 (six) months, from the invoice date, to the products made by MGA.
The guarantee services offered by MGA are restricted to the replacement or fixing of pieces with defect. This process will be out of cost, once the product returns to MGA with it’s original invoice.
The guarantee will be null, if the piece suffers any damages caused by accidents, or presents signals of violation or bad usage.
To have any information about your valve or, if you need some technical assistance, please inform us its size and tracking number, marked at the valve body.
MGA only guarantee actuated valves assembled at MGA or from a designated technician.
*The company has the right to make any change without previous information.
General Conditions of Maintenance
Regular maintenance consists in change the sealings and tight the bolts (no more than the enough). Hard tighten will result in high activation’s torque and excessive sealing’s wear, affecting the valve’s operation.
To eliminate the stem’s leakage, tight the bolts from the gland with 1/8 turn each time.
If necessary to open the valve for internal maintenance, be sure that the valve is depressurized.
Always use original spare parts. They are your guarantee of security.
